SuperPump250™ – Twice Proven To Be The Best
Every few years, a formula is released in the body building industry that turns heads. When we first released SuperPump250™ in 2005, we knew we had something really special. After almost three years of unprecedented sales and striking feedback from users, we now realize we didn’t just turn heads with SuperPump250™, we’ve snapped necks.
From its inception, SuperPump250™ was put out as a pre-workout enhancer. The base formula of which was being used with unbelievable success by a certain top trainer of some of the best pro bodybuilders in the world. This cocktail carried so much impact with these elite athletes that they felt themselves at a severe disadvantage without it. No doubt, this was something special.
So our advice was simple: take this product to magnify the effects of your workout. Training for strength? SuperPump250™ will help make you stronger. Training for size? SuperPump250™ will help make you bigger. Training to get lean? SuperPump250™ will help you get ripped. Although our message was as simple as a “Boy Toy” lower back tattoo on a figure model, it didn’t really resonate in today’s world of ridiculous advertising claims. So Gaspari Nutrition decided to do something that had long since been virtually abandoned by the supplement industry... fund high-quality clinical research on the finished product - SuperPump250™.
Our first study was performed by Dr. Ron Mendel and colleagues at The Ohio Research Group2. The purpose of the study was to see how much lean mass an average guy would gain if he took one dose of SuperPump250™ before hitting the weights. Male subjects with at least two years of weight training experience completed 5 sets of 10 reps for the biceps alternated with 5 sets of 10 reps for the triceps under two conditions: 1) SuperPump250™ and 2) placebo (flavored water). Twenty four hour food intake and physical activity were tightly controlled (duplicated) prior to each trial, and all sets, reps, weights, and rest periods were held constant from one trial to the next. Changes in lean mass were measured with dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), arguably one of the most sensitive body composition devices currently available. The results confirmed what thousands of consumers had already told us: SuperPump250™ magnified the pump response to exercise. Specifically, the workout itself (i.e., the placebo trial) increased lean mass of the arms by 3.5%, while the workout + SuperPump250™ led to a massive 9% increase in estimated lean mass of the arms. So in Reader’s Digest terms, using SuperPump250™ prior to training lead to more than twice the gains in muscle size.
Since we knew that these volume-induced increases in muscle size could increase muscle protein synthesis and decrease muscle protein breakdown1, our next step was to place these initial results in context by funding a training study. In other words, it’s one thing to show SuperPump250™ remarkable effects the first time it’s used, but the “litmus test” is to demonstrate that it truly enhances real gains during training. So we funded a second clinical trial.
In the second SuperPump250™ study, performed recently at the prestigious Center for Applied Health Science Research, the goal was to determine the effects of supplementation with SuperPump250™ on muscular strength, muscular endurance, muscle size, and body composition during one month of intense resistance training3. Thirty healthy men were randomized to receive SuperPump250™ or a flavor-matched placebo and then resistance train for 4-weeks. Measurements of muscular performance (1-rep max and # of reps to failure on the bench press), body composition (lean mass, fat mass) via DEXA, and general markers of health (heart rate, blood pressure, and comprehensive blood chemistries) were taken before and after 28 days of supplementation and training. This time, gains in muscle size were even more impressive, and were coupled with improvements in muscle performance (bench press reps to failure) and whole-body skeletal muscle mass:

- 947% times greater increase in whole-body lean mass.
- 234% times greater increase in muscle performance.
- 25.5 times greater increase in the lean mass of the arms.
*Total body skeletal muscle mass estimated from the sum of lean soft tissue mass of the arms and legs (Kim et al. JAP 97:655-660, 2004).
From the likes of The Ohio Research Group to Baylor University to The Center for Applied Health Sciences Research, Gaspari Nutrition has collaborated with some of the top scientists in the world to quantify just how effective our supplements are. It’s not often that consumers and scientists agree on something. But when it comes to pre-workout products, both sides agree that SuperPump250™ delivers the goods... the first time, and every time you use it. As has been the intent for the entire Gaspari line; unlike other brands and the claims attached to their products, we don’t make this stuff up.
