Well, I just got back from the CrossFit Games in Carson, California! I was there a big chunk of time, and even longer than I wanted. (Got stuck at Denver International)...weird!!! :) It was one Crazy week. I was there working/watching/having fun etc.. Just being there now is quite a special. It is now a week long for the CrossFit games. The master's division went Tuesday-Thursday, and Individuals went Wednesday and Friday-Sunday. Since I arrived the Monday when it started I got to see some of the Master's competition. Talk about MOTIVATING!! There were age divisions from 40+-60+, seeing these incredibly talented men and women do all of these workouts and finishing them were giving me chills. I was floored, coolest thing by far I saw at the games. Wednesday the Individual Men and Women started their portion. Some workouts had been released and some had not. Wednesday a surprise workout was announced: Row a half-marathon.... say what?! yep, all the competitors had to row 21,097 meters for time. That to me was a really crazy, surprising workout that I will never EVER try! :) When Friday came around that's when everything got started. Vendor village was open. There were a TON of vendors everywhere, from equipment companies to supplements
and food wagons. I swear there were so many people, it reminded me of the Arnold Classic
. That's how big this is getting, it's crazy. In 2008 there were only a handful of vendors, and now there are hundreds! There were demo's of all kind going on around the venue also. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the last day, Sunday. The finals of Men and Women were broadcasted live on ESPN2. How cool. If you didn't get a chance to see them, they are re-broadcasting the finals on Sunday August 4th @ 11am PST. All in all it was an amazing event. None of this could have gone on without the volunteers, media, judges, CrossFit HQ, Reebok, coaches and the athletes. If you've ever been curious about going to the games, I suggest you go. It's one of the most epic things you will ever see!
