Vacation in Utah
People often ask me how do you train while on vacation. It's super easy for diets to go to hell and for the day to melt away while you relax and workouts to get lost in the mix. For me the most important part of a vacation is factoring in the workout fun time. I have been on vacations to Costa Rica focused on surfing and yoga, hiking trips in New Zealand, Australia, and the Adirondacks or New York. To me the best way to see a location is really on your feet. This particular vacation I am currently on in Utah hiking is a big component of the trip.
I am currently in Salt Lake City, UT which is known for the mountains that surround it. Since my arrival I have hiked up into the mountains and also had the opportunity to train with Obstacle Racing legend Hobie Call. As much as this is a down time for me it's important to still ensure sometime each day is dedicated to training. It might be a little more low key but it's about getting out and moving.
The other important part is the nutrition. I love my Myofusion shakes and not only were my hiking and workout clothes packed but also my nutrition. No need to change everything just because you are in a different city. So for the rest of the week it's more hiking, reading, sleeping and relaxing. I can't think of a better way to spend a vacation than on the move and with good friends.
