I gave a can of Glycofuse to Braveheart Ron to bring to the Spartan Beast in Vermont. He shared it with other Bravehearts. I asked him what he thought.

As member of Team Braveheart, I was given a jar of Glycofuse by Jen Rosant to use during the Spartan Race Beast. The Glycofuse was intended to help muscle recovery and to prevent cramping during the race, having never used this product before I was a little nervous.
When I had run the Spartan Race Super in NJ two weeks prior, my legs were killing me and cramping up like crazy. Despite having a water/Gatorade mix, salt packets, and gels with me in my Camelbak, my legs were twitching and cramping up bad on Mountain Creek. I spoke to Jen about trying some Glycofuse for the Spartan Beast in Vermont.
On race day for the Spartan Beast, I took the Glycofuse and added 3 scoops to my 100 oz. Camelbak Mule and got ready for the a long 14.1 mile race on Killington. The taste of the Glycofuse and water was surprisingly delicious. I took sips of the mix throughout the race to keep me hydrated.
Since I had never taken Glycofuse before I was a little nervous about possible side effects, such as an upset stomach or nausea. There were no side effects at all. Since its stimulant and sugar-free, there was no heart-racing or jitters. I battled my way through the course waiting for my legs to cramp up from the extreme altitude and brutal obstacles of the course, but it never happen.
The Glycofuse worked! My muscles never cramped up the entire time I was on the course. I finished the Spartan Race Beast in 5:34. When I finished the course, my knees hurt from the constant pounding of running down the mountain, but my muscles were not fatigued. I dreaded waking up the next day, thinking to myself, getting out of bed is going to be a nightmare. Surprisingly, when I woke up the next day, I experienced little to no muscle soreness.
I have been an obstacle course racer for years now and I have never woken up after a brutal race like that feeling so refreshed. I am incredibly thankful to Jen Rosant, Team Braveheart, and Gaspari for letting me try Glycofuse for the Spartan Race Beast. I now have a new product to add to my line of products. I don’t even want to think about how I would have felt if I didn’t have the Gylcofuse in my water.
