With the Arnold Sports Festival coming up, I thought I would share a few of my thoughts on my first trip to the Arnold last year. If you have not been before let me start by saying it’s like nothing you have seen before! The Arnold, the largest multi-sport festival in the nation, is held at the end of every February in Columbus, Ohio stretching four days, showcasing over 45 sports and is visited by over 175,000 fitness enthusiasts.
As you can imagine it can be quite an overwhelming experience so here are some tips:
Start early. The exhibit hall fills up quickly with visitors so the earlier you start in the day the better chance you will have in seeing all the exhibits. This is especially true on Saturday.
Plan in advance. Know what exhibits/events you want to see in advance and make it your priority to visit them first. Then you can take your time in seeing the rest of what the Arnold has to offer. Of course make it a point to stop by the Gaspari booth where we will be sampling our latest and greatest products such as SuperPump 3.0 and Detonante XT. I have been using both products myself and am loving the results.
Network. Rarely will you have a chance to be together with so many fitness minded people so gather as much knowledge as you can from the exhibitors and fellow attendees. You can take those tips home and apply them to your training and then share your results next year. You will find everyone is friendly and as eager as you are to learn as much as you can. Don’t forget to start off at the Gaspari Nutrition booth where you will find the newly crowned Bikini Ms. Olympia Ashley Kaltwasser, Branch Warren, Hide Yamagishi, and the man himself Rich Gaspari!
Expand your horizons. The Arnold showcases over 45 different sports so after you have hit the ones on your list, look up a new sport and check it out. Who knows you may open up a new interest that you didn’t know you had.
Finally, plan on retuning next year because there is always more you will want to see. Have fun and hope to you there!
