2013 Ms. Figure International Invite
Well, I am finally home in NY, getting things in place and organized after a lengthy month of extensive traveling. I know it seems like I have been everywhere and truthfully, it feels like I have! Let me explain. I had a certain number of appearances to complete on behalf of Gaspari, and because I compete all year, it worked out that they got scheduled back to back. I know that some of you request that I come to your city, and I would except I was not in charge of the appearance schedule. I wanted to explain that just so you knew that.
Let's see, what is going on over here. Well, today I made my way to a new facility to get work done on my back. I had a wonderful Doctor as I mentioned before, but I needed to find something closer to home, so that I made sure to adhere to this new therapy. I intend to keep my back stretched and pliable as I dive into my competition prep for the 2013 Ms. Figure International. With all of the contracting I demand of my muscles, I must also make sure I maintain my full range of motion and maintain flexibility. If you get too tight, it is difficult to open up and display your physique. It seems I am a bit tighter here in the NY cold weather but to be honest it isn't that bad. I have figured out how to make it more livable and have increased my wardrobe to accommodate this part of the world.
Right now I am gearing up to go to the gym, it's leg day. I do legs two times a week and cardio 2 times a week. Are you shocked? lol...Yea, I don't do crazy long bouts of cardio. It is not necessary if you have a healthy metabolism. And from the looks of it, I am healthier than ever. I dropped almost 3 lbs in 5 days, and my calories are around 1,500-1,600 a day. That means I have a lot of room to add in cardio and reduce calories when I need to, but I never start with low calories and lots of cardio because where would I have to go over the next 10 weeks.
As of today it is 10 weeks from the Ms. Figure International. Now I may be off by a week...seems like every show I count incorrectly and have an extra week. But I do think it's 10. I feel great, I was able to stay in good shape, even when taking a lot of time off. I am responding so easily because of that break. Normally that much time off would have me concerned. But my strength came right back after hitting my routine the second time around. Things always have a way of working out.:)
Next week I am going to start a video series where I discuss all aspects of my life. Not just about my work outs because that seems so one dimensional. And although I am an athlete, there are so many different things that make up who I am as a person. So I figured why not color things a bit more with details and flavor. Even if it's just day to day stuff. That is what is really going on. I don't know really where it will lead, but I want to stay open and see where things go.
Also, I will have a few changes in the upcoming year that I want to tell you about, so be sure to stay tuned for my next blog for details.
If I don't post before Christmas, I want to wish you Happy Holidays to you and your family.
May you have no dinner table drama this year! lol
