Last weekend, I competed in my last show for the Spring competition season—the New York Pro. This was a great show for me. I felt more rested and a bit tighter than I had a few weeks prior at the Pittsburgh Pro. Between the Pittsburgh Pro and New York Pro, I was able to increase my calories and decrease my cardio a bit and that made a
big difference in how I felt and looked when I took the stage. As I prepare for future shows, I’ll definitely seek to be ready earlier, so I can mimic this experience. Twenty-two shows later, and I’m still learning new things about myself and how to improve my prep. I love that.
Now, while I of course wanted to win the NY Pro, I was thrilled and honored to have been awarded 2nd place in such a competitive line-up. I felt at my personal best in New York, and as a result, I’m closing out my Spring season on a real high note and am heading into my Summer improvement season with lots of positive energy. I’m ready get to work on my opportunities for improvement for the Bikini Olympia in September! (More on this in a future blog)
I want to thank my friends, family and fans for cheering me on this Spring. Your notes, emails, tweets and messages really meant the world to me and helped to push me through those tough days…especially as I dealt with the loss of my grandma. Also, a huge thanks to my team: Eddie Baird, Gaspari Nutrition, Fitness Management Group (FMG), J.M. Manion, Team Bombshell, Shannon Dey, Rob Rosetti, Fitness Rx For Women, CJ’s Elite Competition Wear and Protan. I’m so grateful for your support and love!

Until next time – keep pushing toward your best!
